Title: Floral Dance Location: Private Residence, South Wales. UK Window size: Height - 2.00 m x Width - 0.50 m Design Content: Inspired by floral images – enlarged and stylised shapes, designed into rhythmic forms. The window faces south, allowing for the use of rich colours together with more subtle hues and tonal gradations in some of the glass selected. The graphic black liner areas further accentuate the sense of movement within the overall design. Glass Selected: The coloured glass is translucent ‘Antique streaky’ glass is made by Hartley Wood, which is hand made/mouth blown glass. Glass produced in this manner has deliberate irregular patterns and is of varying thickness, offering unique textural qualities. The range of tonal colours, when combined with the varying levels of day light and seasonal changes create an array of beautiful kinetic effects. The white semi-opalescent glass is by Lambert’s a German ‘Antique’, which contrasts with the areas of coloured glass whilst also providing semi-obscurity for a degree of privacy. The white opalescent glass has the ability to accentuate the levels of natural daylight – having a similar effect to snow - reflecting light off its surface area.
